These are “interesting” times we live in! As we move into the New Year it feels like we are riding an exciting roller coaster. There is the political and economic front at every level from global to local. Human ingenuity amplified by information technology continues to bring innovation at ever accelerating rates. The dramatic weather through the holidays has added texture to our lives overlaying the annual cycle of the holidays. As we move into the New Year the Taylor family and Edna Gallery are going to be going through some big changes also.
Edna Gallery will be open for a special show in February “Shades of Gray”, then a month of regular sales in March. Then we will be closing the doors on our physical storefront for the foreseeable future. Martin has a show of some completely new and exciting photographs at Orcas Center in April.
We hope to return with a physical presence in Eastsound before too long. Bigger, and better than ever. But for now we need to find something more lucrative to pay the bills. In the meantime we hope you will continue to think of us as a valuable Orcas resource. You can still buy our art work. We are still available for photo shoot projects, printing etc. etc. Just contact us by phone or email or go straight to our web page which will continue to evolve as a great place to see and buy artwork.
You can always access us though our web site online: www.ednagallery.com
As usual sorry for any duplicates of this email missive!
Happy New Year from Samantha, Marcia & Martin
Hi,
Fall is most definitely with us. Today is a beautiful Fall day on Orcas Island. Clear, cold, & calm with beautiful clear blue skies over fall colors bursting from among the timeless Northwest forests. The chestnut tree at the end of the Haven Road by the county dock on Madronna Point is spectacular in it’s Fall foliage.
We always love to see old friends and new faces in Edna Gallery. We always love to share our art and our warm and comfortable space with our guests. Of course we’d love you to buy a piece or two. But “no purchase necessary” to drop in.
But manifestations of our own visions are not all that we can provide. We love to work with our customers on their dreams and visions. We can provide a huge array of services. There is a partial list of the kinds of things we can do on our web site:
http://ednagallery.com/customerservices.shtml
But please don’t let any list we provide limit your imagination. Just bring your ideas to us and let us see if we can help you bring them to fruition!
Here are a few things we do that you might not have thought of before.
Christmas is on it’s way so maybe we can help you come up with a truly unique original present. Or maybe you just want to indulge yourself.
Come on in to Edna Gallery on North Beach Road next to Home Grown and Shearwater on Orcas Island. Bring your project ideas.

We just opened our doors at the new Edna Gallery location in Eastsound. We are open at 138 North Beach Road in the newly remodeled “A1 Cafe” space. There you can see the usual gorgeous prints and canvases of Martin’s (that’s me) photographs.
We also have an incredible new customizable 22″ digital “picture frame” made by Photovu. Come and check it out. It has built in WiFi so as well as the usual USB memory devices you can view imaes from anywhere on a local network or on the Internet.
ALSO DO NOT MISS the first in a series of Spring and Fall Edna shows of guest artists work. Our first is a show of work by renowned Orcas artist and activist Peter Fisher. It is called “Mexico: Travel Light”.
The show is at our old location at 310 Main Street under Christina’s restaurant. It runs from Sunday April 2oth through Sunday May 4th, open Fri, Sat, Sun 11-5.
There is a opening reception with free wine and chocolate 4-9 p.m. this Saturday April 19th.
For the run of the show there will be 2 x Edna Galleries in Eastsound. Come check them both out!
Look out for announcements of future Edna shows. We intend to enliven the Orcas art scene!
Hi, welcome to Martin’s blog @ Edna Gallery! I hope this will occasionally be entertaining!
